Along with supporters of legalizing sports betting and pari-mutuel horse wagering are proponents of legalizing casino gaming resorts. Bolstering the casino arguments is a Public Opinion Strategies poll conducted via mobile phones that queried 800 likely Georgia voters. Nearly two-thirds favor casinos here while 85 percent of those surveyed believe voters, not the Legislature, should decide the issue. Public Opinion Strategies also found bipartisan support among Georgia voters for regulated sports wagering, with 60 percent of those questioned saying they support the state adding sports betting (especially to help fund the popular HOPE scholarship). ICE operation catches criminals
During the Biden administration illegal immigrants overwhelmed systems ranging from healthcare to schools. Illegal alien street gangs flourished. Now, though, Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced the results of an enhanced immigration enforcement operation throughout Georgia. “Operation Safe Community” yielded 1,226 immigration arrests in recent weeks. Of those individuals who snuck across our borders, 720 had been convicted or charged with crimes in the U.S. According to ICE, the criminal histories of the arrested aliens include sex crimes, crimes against children, aggravated assault, assault and battery, drug crimes, lewd and lascivious acts, weapons crimes and burglary.
