One topic where lawmakers appear to stand united (in Georgia at least) is on Israel, which was plunged into war last week after a shocking, bloody attack by Palestinian militant group Hamas. State and local officials from both sides of the aisle, including Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens, Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and over a dozen state legislators attended a rally in Sandy Springs where they voiced support for Israel, one of the U.S.’s oldest allies. Atlanta snubbed for ’28 DNC Convention
The City of Atlanta and the Georgia Democratic Party made a strong push to host the 2028 Democratic National Convention, but fell short once again when it was announced that Boston, Denver and Philadelphia are the three finalists.
