On Monday the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service came out with a regretful announcement – it was removing 21 species from the federal endangered species list and officially classifying them as “extinct.” Three of those creatures, the Bachman’s warbler, the southern acornshell and the upland combshell were once native to Georgia forests and rivers, (the latter two were species of mussels). Atlanta snubbed for ’28 DNC Convention
The City of Atlanta and the Georgia Democratic Party made a strong push to host the 2028 Democratic National Convention, but fell short once again when it was announced that Boston, Denver and Philadelphia are the three finalists.
