Georgia maintains a robust shrimping industry despite its relatively short coastline, but it is in major trouble this year as shrimp farmers from Latin America and South Asia have completely overwhelmed the market.  Price per-pound has dropped from about $3.50 per pound to just 85 cents, causing shrimpers to desperately reach out to local, state and federal officials for help.  As Georgia’s shrimpers and their elected officials search for solutions, the local industry is SINKING…
