Since 2010 the Atlanta Open has been the only professional men’s tennis tournament hosted in the state, hosting the best professionals in the world at courts set up near Midtown, Atlanta. But the next edition of the tourney, set for next July, will be its last as the ATP Tour has announced it is retiring a handful of tournaments as part of a rejiggering of its schedule. Atlanta snubbed for ’28 DNC Convention
The City of Atlanta and the Georgia Democratic Party made a strong push to host the 2028 Democratic National Convention, but fell short once again when it was announced that Boston, Denver and Philadelphia are the three finalists. Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens blasted the decision, accusing the DNC of “abandoning Atlanta, abandoning the South, and once again abandoning Black voters.” The snub has Georgia Dems SINKING…
