From 1989 through 2018 the Peach Drop was an annual Atlanta New Year’s Eve tradition, an answer to New York City’s iconic Times Square ball drop. But between questions around the state of Underground Atlanta where the event was held and then the COVID pandemic, the event has been on and off ever since. While it was held in 2022, Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens recently announced that the event will not take place in 2023. Atlanta snubbed for ’28 DNC Convention
The City of Atlanta and the Georgia Democratic Party made a strong push to host the 2028 Democratic National Convention, but fell short once again when it was announced that Boston, Denver and Philadelphia are the three finalists.
