A new poll shows that Cobb County residents may be open to a transit tax that would fund a county-wide bus rapid transit system.  The proposed Mobility Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (M-SPLOST) could find its way onto ballots as soon as next November, allowing Cobb residents to vote for or against a one cent sales tax hike that would fund transit projects in the county for the next three decades.  54% of respondents to the poll, from the Cobb Business Alliance, said they’d support a transit tax vs. 25% opposed and 21% undecided.  Expect campaigns for and against the M-SPLOST to emerge over the next year, but an early test of Cobb’s temperature on transit expansion is RISING…
