Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp on Monday gave a preview of one of his key legislative priorities for 2024 – school safety. At a press conference at the State Capitol Kemp announced plans to include more than $100 million in the budget – $45,000 to every public school in the state – to be spent on security upgrades and extra law enforcement presence. And that money would be baked into the state’s base budget, meaning schools could count on it every year going forward. Atlanta snubbed for ’28 DNC Convention
The City of Atlanta and the Georgia Democratic Party made a strong push to host the 2028 Democratic National Convention, but fell short once again when it was announced that Boston, Denver and Philadelphia are the three finalists.
