‘Swatting,’ where prank calls are made to 911 reporting imminent danger close to a particular person/address, has been on the rise in Georgia, and prominent politicians have become prime targets. U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Rome, has been the victim of multiple incidents, as has Lt. Gov. Burt Jones and several other state legislators. State Sen. Clint Dixon, R-Buford, says he plans to introduce legislation aimed at curbing the practice, whether by increasing penalties or making it easier to investigate. Atlanta snubbed for ’28 DNC Convention
The City of Atlanta and the Georgia Democratic Party made a strong push to host the 2028 Democratic National Convention, but fell short once again when it was announced that Boston, Denver and Philadelphia are the three finalists.
