The Rowen Foundation, overseeing a 2,000-acre Gwinnett County development with the lofty goal of becoming a destination for research and innovation, has added Spelman College Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Pamela Scott-Johnson to its board. Chaired by prominent businessman Sachin Shailendra, the foundation plans for the land to be developed into low- and medium-density research and office buildings, green space and eventually a mixed-use village. Dr. Scott-Johnson sees this “as an opportunity to work alongside other academic and business leaders to solve problems that impact our state and beyond while opening the door for Georgians and Spelman students to be a part of these solutions. Atlanta snubbed for ’28 DNC Convention
The City of Atlanta and the Georgia Democratic Party made a strong push to host the 2028 Democratic National Convention, but fell short once again when it was announced that Boston, Denver and Philadelphia are the three finalists.
