When CNN moved from Midtown Atlanta to downtown’s CNN Center in 1987 it was the premier cable news station in the world, having invented the 24-hour cable-news cycle that is prevalent to this day.  For over 30 years it called the building home, but in 2019 slowly began moving most of its operations to New York, and last year announced it would move what was left of its Atlanta crew to the Turner campus in Midtown.  But this week truly marked the end of an era as the CNN Center was officially renamed as ‘The Center,’ with new owners trying to figure out how to rebrand and refill the office and retail space. CNN’s presence in the city it once called home is SINKING…
