Last week, for the first time since 2019, the Board of Regents voted to increase student tuition for the 26 institutions that comprise the state’s University System. In-state tuition will rise 2.5 percent in the fall; students from outside Georgia will pay 5 percent more; and foreign students will pay 2 percent more on top of that. High inflation is the main reason. The system is facing rising costs for everything ranging from food and technology to utilities and insurance. Atlanta snubbed for ’28 DNC Convention
The City of Atlanta and the Georgia Democratic Party made a strong push to host the 2028 Democratic National Convention, but fell short once again when it was announced that Boston, Denver and Philadelphia are the three finalists. Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens blasted the decision, accusing the DNC of “abandoning Atlanta, abandoning the South, and once again abandoning Black voters.” The snub has Georgia Dems SINKING…
