Last year Gov. Brian Kemp signed HB 88, the Coleman-Baker Act, into law, creating a new cold case unit within the GBI and opening the door for old cases to be investigated. The law was named (in part) after Tara Baker, a UGA student who was murdered in 2001. This week, thanks to an investigation reopened by the new unit, an arrest was made in the case and the suspect was charged with the murder. Kudos to bill sponsor state Rep.
