Two of Georgia’s biggest counties will have major votes on the ballot this fall as they ponder a penny sales tax hike to expand transit. The Boards of Commissioners in both Cobb and Gwinnett Counties have approved ballot referendums that would raise billions of dollars over a 30 year period to fund transit improvements including bus rapid transit, on-demand microtransit and other improvements. Atlanta snubbed for ’28 DNC Convention
The City of Atlanta and the Georgia Democratic Party made a strong push to host the 2028 Democratic National Convention, but fell short once again when it was announced that Boston, Denver and Philadelphia are the three finalists. Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens blasted the decision, accusing the DNC of “abandoning Atlanta, abandoning the South, and once again abandoning Black voters.” The snub has Georgia Dems SINKING…
