For 236 years Georgia has been without an official state crustacean – but as of yesterday (July 1) that streak has come to an end.  House Bill 1341, passed earlier this year, designates the white shrimp as the official state crustacean.  Coastal lawmakers who pushed for the legislation say they hope the designation will lead to it being promoted more in restaurants and grocery stores and provide a boost to the state’s shrimping industry.  The white shrimp’s reputation in the Peach State is  RISING…
