The Chattahoochee Riverkeeper, an environmental watchdog group, says it is planning to sue the City of Atlanta over continued sewage spills at a northwest Atlanta water treatment plant that has seen E. coli levels 340 times higher than those recommended by the EPA. Filed under the federal Clean Water Act, the suit follows an investigation that began in March and found major issues at the R.M. Clayton Water Reclamation Plant, the state’s largest.
