A bill sponsored by U.S. Reps. Sanford Bishop, D-GA, and Buddy Carter, R-GA, would rename the United States Department of Agriculture National Poultry Research Center in Athens after Francis “Abit” Massey, a longtime lobbyist who represented poultry farmers in the state. Massey passed away in June after a long career that included being named president emeritus of the Georgia Poultry Federation. Atlanta snubbed for ’28 DNC Convention
The City of Atlanta and the Georgia Democratic Party made a strong push to host the 2028 Democratic National Convention, but fell short once again when it was announced that Boston, Denver and Philadelphia are the three finalists.
