State and local leaders alike have been appalled at a spate of violence at the state’s prisons, but unfortunately the crisis is showing no signs of slowing down. There were 24 homicides in state prisons in the first half of 2024, and 156 deaths overall, putting Georgia on track to see its deadliest year ever in its prison systems. Atlanta snubbed for ’28 DNC Convention
The City of Atlanta and the Georgia Democratic Party made a strong push to host the 2028 Democratic National Convention, but fell short once again when it was announced that Boston, Denver and Philadelphia are the three finalists. Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens blasted the decision, accusing the DNC of “abandoning Atlanta, abandoning the South, and once again abandoning Black voters.” The snub has Georgia Dems SINKING…
