Georgia’s vaunted film industry bounced back in a major way from COVID, but following a series of actor and writer strikes last year it has hit a rough patch in 2024. There are currently 29 active productions in the state, down from 55 at this time in 2021 and 41 in 2022. Direct spend in the last fiscal year was $2.6 billion, down 37% from the previous year.
