Last year state and federal officials wrapped up the Savannah Harbor Expansion Project, an exhaustive (and exhausting) deepening project that took nearly 25 years from study phase to completion. A year later rumblings of another project are starting up, with federal lawmakers authorizing funding for a study to deepen the Savannah River yet again, allowing for more and even bigger cargo ships to come into Georgia’s bustling ports. Atlanta snubbed for ’28 DNC Convention
The City of Atlanta and the Georgia Democratic Party made a strong push to host the 2028 Democratic National Convention, but fell short once again when it was announced that Boston, Denver and Philadelphia are the three finalists.
