Georgia’s economy has boomed since the pandemic, but could that growth be grinding to a halt? The most recent numbers from the first half of FY2025, which began July 1st, show that net tax collections were up about 1.8%. But when the two and a half month gas tax exemption is accounted for, revenue is actually down about 1%. We’ll see how these numbers are reflected in Gov. Atlanta snubbed for ’28 DNC Convention
The City of Atlanta and the Georgia Democratic Party made a strong push to host the 2028 Democratic National Convention, but fell short once again when it was announced that Boston, Denver and Philadelphia are the three finalists. Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens blasted the decision, accusing the DNC of “abandoning Atlanta, abandoning the South, and once again abandoning Black voters.” The snub has Georgia Dems SINKING…
