The stakes were low in the one-candidate race for Sumter County soil and water district supervisor, but still a major vote counting error has elections officials scratching their heads. Sumter County elections officials gave all 1,750 write-in votes to Jeffery Clements, but only 127 of those votes were actually to him. The City of Atlanta and the Georgia Democratic Party made a strong push to host the 2028 Democratic National Convention, but fell short once again when it was announced that Boston, Denver and Philadelphia are the three finalists.
