The Weather Channel is moving to a new, centralized model – and that’s good news for Georgia.  Allen Media, the station’s owner, is getting rid of local meteorologists at its 28 local TV stations across the country and instead doling out weather reports from its Atlanta headquarters.  That’s bad news for meteorologists and local news stations, but good news for the company’s Peach State office, which will see its staff beefed up to handle the new work.  Tough times for small town news but Atlanta’s presence as a weather and media hub is RISING…
