The 2025 legislative session has gotten off to a bumpy start thanks to a pair of freak snowstorms, but the state Senate on Monday passed its first bill, which would allow bail bondsmen to hold elected office. Sponsored by state Sen. Matt Brass, R-Newnan, the bill came in response to a Heard County bail bondswoman elected to the county commission, but found she couldn’t take office unless she gave up her company. Atlanta snubbed for ’28 DNC Convention
The City of Atlanta and the Georgia Democratic Party made a strong push to host the 2028 Democratic National Convention, but fell short once again when it was announced that Boston, Denver and Philadelphia are the three finalists.
