Atlanta’s Westside Reservoir Park, the city’s newest and largest on the west side of the city, is getting a new name. The Atlanta City Council voted to name the park after former Mayor Shirley Franklin, as well as rename a portion of Central Avenue SW after the trailblazing mayor. Atlanta snubbed for ’28 DNC Convention
The City of Atlanta and the Georgia Democratic Party made a strong push to host the 2028 Democratic National Convention, but fell short once again when it was announced that Boston, Denver and Philadelphia are the three finalists.
