The Georgia Judicial Qualifications Commission has had a busy year already investigating allegations of judicial misconduct, and in Fulton Superior Court Judge Shermela Williams may have found its most scandalous case yet. The JQC has brought more than a dozen charges against Williams, including detaining a 22 year old woman “without any legal findings or justification” during her parents’ divorce case. She’s also accused of calling in favors to aid family members, showing favoritism towards a sorority sister in a child custody case, and more. Hearings on the first round of charges are scheduled to begin next month, but it looks like Williams’ tenure as a Fulton judge may be SINKING…
Atlanta snubbed for ’28 DNC Convention
The City of Atlanta and the Georgia Democratic Party made a strong push to host the 2028 Democratic National Convention, but fell short once again when it was announced that Boston, Denver and Philadelphia are the three finalists.
