The Trump Administration Monday made waves with the announcement that Columbus’ Fort Moore will have its name restored to its original Fort Benning.  The new name will technically be in honor of  Cpl. Fred G. Benning, a decorated WWI soldier, and not Confederate General Henry Benning, the fort’s original namesake.  The change was met with mixed reactions, with Republicans like U.S. Rep. Andrew Clyde calling it “incredible news” while Democrats like State Democratic Minority Leader Carolyn Hugley called it “an embrace of hate.”  But for supporters of the original name, including many in and around the Army base, the change has spirits RISING…
