Earlier this month we wrote about the invasive tegu lizard that can grow up to four feet long and has been spotted in South Georgia. Now, against all odds, we have something even worse. The northern snakehead fish, native to China, has been discovered in a Gwinnett County pond by the Georgia DNR, and officials are saying to anyone who catches one to “kill on sight” and to report the sighting. The snakehead is capable of surviving on land(!) as well as water, and can devastate local fish and other wildlife populations. Georgia approves three-year bachelor’s degree
Georgia is joining a handful of other states in trying out a new three-year bachelor’s degree program meant to get students into the job market faster. The University System of Georgia’s Board of Regents has approved the Bachelor of Applied Science, which cuts down on electives and only requires 90 credit hours instead of the traditional 120.
