Star Wars is all the rage right now with a new hit streaming show and the final film in the new trilogy (sadly not filmed here) set to come out next month. Georgia has its own little slice in a new Department of Defense cybersecurity office that opened its doors this week at the Georgia Cyber Center in Augusta. Dubbed “Tatooine,” the home planet of Luke Skywalker, the operation is a satellite office of the Pentagon that reports directly to the Secretary of Defense. The unit will serve as something of a strike force, taking on technical issues and coming up with quick solutions for troops actively on the battlefield. Georgia approves three-year bachelor’s degree
Georgia is joining a handful of other states in trying out a new three-year bachelor’s degree program meant to get students into the job market faster. The University System of Georgia’s Board of Regents has approved the Bachelor of Applied Science, which cuts down on electives and only requires 90 credit hours instead of the traditional 120.
