Attorney Lance LoRusso is representing two Atlanta police officers fired without any due process after using tasers to arrest two people in a car who violated a curfew and refused lawful orders to stop. After the swift firings ordered by Atlanta’s mayor in order to placate rioters, Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard then shamefully charged the cops with aggravated assault with a “lethal weapon.” Here’s the rub: LoRusso and other legal experts point out that a taser is NOT a “lethal weapon” under Georgia law. It is doubtful a grand jury would ever indict the officers due to Howard’s politically-motivated unfairness. But Howard doesn’t have to bring the case before a grand jury– and that means the legal status of the two officers is DRIFTING….
