Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens‘ message Monday was crystal clear; “If you pull a gun in this town, you are going to jail,” he told members of the Atlanta City Council’s public safety committee.  Dickens was there to give an update on the city’s efforts to increase public safety, but another violent weekend shows it has a long way to go.  There were four more murders in the city over the weekend, including six people being shot (with two dead) at a southwest Atlanta park.  City officials have pleaded with the public to not resolve disputes with gunfire, but those pleas seem to remain unheeded.  Dickens is saying the right things, but the violent crime wave continues to have public safety SINKING…
