Atlanta Public Schools have made radical changes to its grading system. Now, if a student fails to turn in an assignment or simply gets everything wrong, they will no longer receive a zero. Instead, they will receive a 50. What? There’s no rationale for this change. A spokesperson from the deputy superintendent’s office says it is “to ensure that it equitably supports our students’ academic growth and empowers them to improve their performance, while also maintaining academic rigor…” Will some adults tell the slow learners on the Atlanta Board of Education that artificially inflating grades won’t help children learn or prepare for life as an adult? Atlanta snubbed for ’28 DNC Convention
The City of Atlanta and the Georgia Democratic Party made a strong push to host the 2028 Democratic National Convention, but fell short once again when it was announced that Boston, Denver and Philadelphia are the three finalists.
