A new poll shows that Cobb County residents may be open to a transit tax that would fund a county-wide bus rapid transit system. The proposed Mobility Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (M-SPLOST) could find its way onto ballots as soon as next November, allowing Cobb residents to vote for or against a one cent sales tax hike that would fund transit projects in the county for the next three decades. 54% of respondents to the poll, from the Cobb Business Alliance, said they’d support a transit tax vs. 25% opposed and 21% undecided. Atlanta snubbed for ’28 DNC Convention
The City of Atlanta and the Georgia Democratic Party made a strong push to host the 2028 Democratic National Convention, but fell short once again when it was announced that Boston, Denver and Philadelphia are the three finalists.
