Heading into the legislative session the possibility of some form of Medicaid expansion was very much on the table.  Debate over how it might be implemented or what it might look like was fierce, but the idea of adding thousands of uninsured Georgians to the rolls has consistently polled as popular and GOP officials were receptive to having the discussion.  But that debate seems to have been put on pause for 2024, as a bill introduced by Speaker Jon Burns Tuesday included language that would create a study committee to examine Medicaid expansion, a sign that the issue is being shelved for the session.  Expect the issue to be back next year but for now it is SINKING…
