Rivian hits pause on $5B Georgia facility

After a brutal financial year that saw its stock fall to an all-time low, electric vehicle manufacturer Rivian is pausing construction on its $5 billion EV factory east of Atlanta, choosing instead to manufacture its new R2 and R3 models at its existing Illinois factory.  The move comes as a major blow to the state’s second-largest ever economic development project, which received some $1.5 billion in tax incentives from the state.  With the facility’s future suddenly in doubt, Rivian’s Georgia presence is SINKING…
