Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr is at odds with Savannah Mayor Van Johnson over a city ordinance that makes it illegal to leave guns in unlocked cars. According to Carr’s office the new rule conflicts with state law, citing a statute that says local governments can’t regulate firearms in such a manner. Dems post fundraising hauls
The 2026 governor’s race is just getting revved up, but a pair of Georgia Democrats are trying to establish themselves as early frontrunners. This week former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms announced that she’s raised $900,000 and lent herself another $200,000, while state Sen. Jason Esteves says his campaign has raised $1.1 million since he entered the race in April.
