Last year Gov. Brian Kemp signed HB 88, the Coleman-Baker Act, into law, creating a new cold case unit within the GBI and opening the door for old cases to be investigated. The law was named (in part) after Tara Baker, a UGA student who was murdered in 2001. Atlanta snubbed for ’28 DNC Convention
The City of Atlanta and the Georgia Democratic Party made a strong push to host the 2028 Democratic National Convention, but fell short once again when it was announced that Boston, Denver and Philadelphia are the three finalists. Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens blasted the decision, accusing the DNC of “abandoning Atlanta, abandoning the South, and once again abandoning Black voters.” The snub has Georgia Dems SINKING…
