The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has announced the approval of plans to purchase some 22,000-acres of land adjacent to the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge, to the delight of Georgia conservationists.  The purchase would include land on the swamp’s southeast corner, where mining company Twin Pines continues to try to get approval to mine for titanium sands amid pushback from local activists.  A continued push to grow and protect the Okefenokee has its future RISING…
