Income tax rebates headed to Kemp’s desk
A one-time tax relief bill sailed through the Senate Monday and is now headed to Governor Brian Kemp’s desk for his signature. House Bill 1000 provides a rebate for Georgia taxpayers – $250 for single filers, $375 for heads of household and $500 for joint filers on Monday. Kemp is expected to sign the bill for the rebate that goes to those who filed their tax returns for 2024 and 2025.
Georgians now eligible for Hurricane Helene relief
Beginning today, Georgia farmers, ranchers and foresters who suffered losses from Hurricane Helene can now apply for federal assistance through the Georgia Hurricane Helene Block Grant Program beginning today. In September, Agriculture Commissioner Tyler Harper announced Georgia will receive $531,236,000 to provide relief for commodities and losses that are not covered under pre-existing USDA programs.
Congress looks “Beyond the Ballpark”
U.S. Rep. Brian Jack (R-GA 3), chairman of the Small Business Subcommittee on Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Workforce Development, recently convened a hearing focused on minor league baseball and its local impact. Jack’s district includes Columbus, home of the Columbus Clingstones, a new Braves’ minor league affiliate who were featured during the hearing.
