The Deportation Data Project at University of California-Berkeley is collecting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) data it receives from a recurring open record request. The numbers reveal that, of the top 10 U.S. states for raw numbers of illegal immigration arrests, Georgia ranks No. 4 behind Texas, Florida and California.
New legislation would limit cell phone use during school hours
A Georgia legislator has introduced legislation that would limit phone access for students in elementary and middle school grades during school hours. State Rep. Scott Hilton, R-Peachtree Corners, said The Distraction-Free Schools Act, HB 340, is aimed at creating distraction-free learning environments in Georgia’s public schools for grades K-8.
