New law expands medical cannabis access in Georgia

Laws regulating the state’s medical cannabis program changed July 1st, affecting many Georgians. Senate Bill 220, the Putting Georgia’s Patients First Act, expands the forms of authorized medical cannabis to include vaporization, oils and raw plant materials for qualified patients and removes cap on THC products used in medical cannabis.

Early voting kicks off & a look at the Georgia ballot questions

Early voting for the May 19th Republican and Democrat primaries began yesterday, and runs through May 15th.  You can vote at any voting location in your county during the three week early voting window – which includes two Saturdays.  To see voting locations and find more information about your ballot or how to vote early (or by mail) visit your Georgia My Voter page.

Adkerson gets Loudermilk’s endorsement in 11th District race

Early voting in the May 19 Primary Election began Monday, and one race drawing attention is the race to fill the 11th Congressional District seat left open by the retirement of U.S. Rep. Barry Loudermilk. Many believe an early decision by U.S. Treasurer Brandon Beach not to seek the seat left the door open, and one of those who jumped in the race is Rob Adkerson, former chief of staff for Loudermilk.

Could Paramount be coming to Georgia?

Paramount Skydance, one of the biggest and most prominent entertainment companies in the world, is furious at its home state of California over a lawsuit filed by the state’s attorney general attempting to stop a merger.  In response, Chair David Ellison has threatened to move from Los Angeles to a state not actively suing his company, and Georgia was on the shortlist of possibilities.  Gov. Brian Kemp welcomed the speculation at a luncheon Monday (and took a jab at California Gov. Gavin Newsom), and while it’s a longshot the mere possibility of luring Paramount has Georgia RISING…
