Don’t ring the bell – runoffs abound in Georgia primaries

Getting tired of the political mailers and TV ads yet?  Well hold onto your hats, because nearly every major primary in Georgia is headed to a June 16th runoff following yesterday’s election day that saw few candidates able to nab the 50%+1 of the vote required to win outright.  You can see the full list of results and vote totals on the Secretary of State’s website.

Voting overshadowed by Raffensperger action

Today’s Republican and Democrat primary elections will help determine their party nominees for the November general election. But there will be various runoff elections on June 16th if no candidates get over 50 percent of the vote. (The exception will be judges races, which will be final after tonight’s tally.

Willis finally appears before Senate Special Committee

Calling it a “damn joke,” Fulton County District Attorney Fanil Willis appeared combative and defiant while testifying before the Georgia Senate Special Committee on Investigations Wednesday. So much so that committee vice chair Sen. Greg Dolezal, R- Cumming, turned off her microphone twice because she continued to throw accusations at the senators after answering the question.

Feds sue Fulton County; Willis to appear before Senate panel

On Friday the U.S. Justice Department filed a lawsuit against Fulton County in Atlanta’s U.S. District Court seeking access to voting records and ballots from the contested 2020 presidential election. It is a general election still surrounded by unanswered questions regarding lack of transparency and the county’s continued resistance to producing the ballots that by law they must retain and store.

Could Paramount be coming to Georgia?

Paramount Skydance, one of the biggest and most prominent entertainment companies in the world, is furious at its home state of California over a lawsuit filed by the state’s attorney general attempting to stop a merger.  In response, Chair David Ellison has threatened to move from Los Angeles to a state not actively suing his company, and Georgia was on the shortlist of possibilities.  Gov. Brian Kemp welcomed the speculation at a luncheon Monday (and took a jab at California Gov. Gavin Newsom), and while it’s a longshot the mere possibility of luring Paramount has Georgia RISING…
